David Tennant is my favorite Doctor, but I feel like he sort of grew into the role more than Matt did. While Matt Smith mentions here that he was just flapping around, his portrayal of the Eleventh Doctor started as one thing in his first episode and then sort of stayed that way for the most part. Bits of Ten's characterization seemed to shift a bit throughout series 2 though and I'd argue that it was really only around the second half of the series when he started to feel like the version Doctor that would carry over into subsequent seasons.

I was a fan of the Seventh but only because I found the novelisations in the school library. I've still never even watched an episode of the old show. I would definitely be Ace, going around battering Daleks with a baseball bat or blowing up Cybermen with Nitro-9

i relate to Matt so much, i didnt grow up with Classic who cause it wasn't on Tv, he was my Doctor when i started watching in 2011 and made me love the show

Not only we DID get David back for the 60th, but also he's back in a way that we could always expect him to pop up any time and it would make sense without having to witness a nerveracking explanation for it to be possible. He's just there, with his own TARDIS, ready to have an adventure at any point and it's just brilliant. I can't see how they could bring back Ten again, giving that Tennant is already showing his age (beautifully so), but I'm most certain that he will show up for the 70th at least, one way or the other, as Fourteen. What they could do, if they want to, is bring back Rose and Metacrisis Ten, as they would have aged since the last time we saw them and it would be so heartwarming to have them back for just one more run after all this time. At least for a tiny little adventure for old times' sake.

The fact they added the coffee machine in for Fourteen's TARDIS is just mindblowing. I now wonder if this was entirely David's idea or someone from the production/writers remembered this interview and wanted to address it. Or if it's all a happy and brilliant coincidence.

Watching this I had an idea, wouldn’t it be really funny if during a regeneration the new doctor is colorblind and is like “I know it’s not that color, but why is it now?”

I am very happy as a fan to listen to this because in all honesty when this happens to the doctor i think all lovers ,of the history of this legacy defining show, know this is what is suppose to feel when you say goodbye. Doctor Who is very special to many many people and it obviously all means something different to different people but that being said all things have they’re place and time and sometimes things can become fantstic because they came and had their impact and went away

Love that matt has a very casual attitude towards the classic series, he's an actor he doesn't have to have watched every episode of the show to play what's written on the paper well. The side context is for the director and writers to provide. On the other hand tennant is just such a huge nerd omg the fact he knows katrina ToT

When they talk about becoming too comfortable in the role, that's absolutely where Tom Baker ended up. 5 seasons of Tom would have been great. Maybe even 6... but by his 7th season, you can see the magic is gone. And yes, that could partly have been from having the rug pulled out from under him by JN-T... But really, much as I love his era, he should have left sooner... And I can totally picture David having sat in the role since 2006 if he'd been given the opportunity!
